Career Paths
Food Waste Collection and Bin Staging
Acorn Waste Service has a top-of-the-line Food Waste Collection Program that recovers more and more food waste every day from landfills and diverts it to greener pastures. Driving a half-ton pickup equipped with a lift gate and a tow bar, our Food Waste crew starts early to stage large and small bins for collection, and then returns them later in the day.
Garbage and Recycling Collection
Our collection crew visits a variety of different property types: townhouses, mid- and high-rise condos and commercial properties. Services range from door-to-door collection to dumping bins placed in garbage rooms. We also retrieve large items left out with garbage (eg. sofa, dresser, table). We pride ourselves on courteous, timely service and working until the day is done. Whether it is by hand or using mechanical assistance, our specialized fleet of small trucks can get into small spaces and only require a G licence to drive.
We provide comprehensive training for all positions and using our culture of communication, help is never far away for new and seasoned employees alike.
